Dear reader,
As you probably of aware of by now, Climate change is growing into a problem for many areas in the United States. In the Pacific Ocean, a small nation of Tuvalu is facing annihilation due to rising sea levels. It is made up of several islands and atolls with a total surface area of 26 and its highest point is only 4.6 meters above sea level.
It a possible 7 meter sea level rise (from the collapse of the Greenland Ice Sheet) could destroy the nation. It will not only just affect the low lying islands, but it will affect every country around the world. over 60% of the global population lives near the ocean, if we learn how to deal with oceans rising on a small scale, we will learn how to stop larger, densely populated cities from being destroyed. Although some might think sea level rise is a myth, there are countless scientific research backing that it is a real issue and it’s happening fast.
-Sincerely, Aaron P.
